Isolde, 1865

Aubrey Beardsley (1872-1898) was an English illustrator and author who was a leader of the Aesthetic movement that included Oscar Wilde. In 1892 he travelled to Paris where he encountered Toulouse-Lautrec's poster designs and the Parisian fashion for Japanese prints, both of which influenced him hugely.
