Charles Louis Clérisseau was a French architect and draughtsman who became a leading authority on ancient Roman architecture and ruins in Italy and France. He also played a key role in the genesis of neoclassical architecture during the second half of the 18th century. ‘Interior of a Sepulchral Chamber’ is a watercolour painting produced by Clérisseau depicting one of his designs for a burial chamber. This print is colour matched to the original and approved by Sir John Soane's Museum. Every purchase supports the work of the museum.
